6 HVAC Maintenance Tasks for Fall

It seems incredible that summer has already come and gone and now it’s already autumn with winter chasing not far behind. And we know Lynnwood winters can be c-c-cold. That means it’s time to think about buttoning up the summer HVAC system and getting the furnace ready for its job ahead.

To finish off summer and prepare for winter you need to do these 6 things this October.

  1. Change the air-filter. Give your furnace a clean fresh start.by changing the air filter. With the last warm days still around you may be running the AC now and then, but it’s still a good idea to pop in a fresh, new filter.
  1. Schedule a professional end-of-season service. Even though you can do a lot on your own to get your AC unit ready for winter, you will be wise to have a professional HVAC technician come out and service the unit. This is especially important if you never got around to having a maintenance check done before summer started.
  1. Adjust the thermostat. Usually there is no need to keep the August settings so you should select comfortable temperatures that fit the outside temperatures.
  1. Clear the area. Clear away any weeds or other foliage that has grown around the unit during summer, as well as grass clippings and leaves which can attract bugs, ants or other insects particularly when the cooler weather sets in. Besides, the debris could be a potential fire hazard.
  1. Get a professional furnace evaluation. Have a professional HVAC technician assess whether you need to update your system, particularly if your system is getting on in years, you added on, or bought a new home. You will most probably save quite a bit in utility costs with a new system and it will ensure your home is properly heated and ventilated.
  1. Book a fall furnace service. With the long Puget Sound winter ahead of us, this is the time to make sure your furnace is ready to cope with it. With a professional tune-up the technician will inspect the system and clean it, calibrate the thermostat, test the airflow, check the motor voltages and make sure all electrical connections are tight. If you have a warranty, a yearly service will keep it valid.

Fall is here, which means you need to make sure your HVAC is running properly before the cold weather sets in. Call Kings Heating and Air Conditioning to schedule your Fall Furnace Tune-up so you stay warm this winter.

“I have worked with Kings Heating for several years. As a property management company business owner, it is really important we have great vendor partners. They are great at communicating and working to fit our homes into their schedule. Their prices are very fair and I highly recommend using them for your HVAC needs.”

“The team at Kings Heating is the one you hope for whenever you’re needing home services! The level of integrity and care they exhibit, unfortunately, seems to be existing less and less these days. Erin, Gary, Michaela, & Brent are nothing short of amazing! Please know that you’ll be in great hands whenever you’re working with Kings.”

“We had a great experience working with Kings Heating and AC! Front desk and technicians are both friendly, easy going, but professional, knowledgeable and fast. We had our furnace maintenance scheduled and inspected in no time, received notifications during the process and final invoice right after. Too easy! Highly recommended to use for any heating and AC work.”
